Theoline Fadness, age 97, of Hayward and formerly of Winter, died Thursday, June 18, 1987, at the Hayward Nursing Home.

Theoline was born June 2, 1890 at Lake Mills, Iowa, the daughter of Oscar and Mary (Krone) Roppe. On Aug. 29, 1914 she was married to Martin Fadness at Lake Mills. They moved to Winter in 1917 and farmed. In 1936 they moved into the Town of Winter and she worked part time for the creamery there. Theoline had lived in Hayward since September of 1980. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church at Winter.

Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Williamson of McAllen, Texas; three sons, Telford of Winter, Roy of Hayward, and Merlin of Moose Lake, MN; 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Alma Larson of Ashland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin, in 1965 and an infant child, Margaret, in 1925.
