“Yesteryears” column from Dec. 13, 1962

Word was received here early this Thursday morning informing of the death of Roy B. Crawford, a very well-known pioneer resident of Winter, at the Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis where he has been receiving medical attention for some time.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 16, at 2:00 PM at the Winter Presbyterian Church, with Rec. James Harvey officiating.

Roy B. Crawford, age 70, a long time resident of the Winter Community, passed away at the Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis on Wednesday, Dec. 12. He lay in state at the Anderson Funeral Chapel in Hayward from 3 P.M. Saturday until Sunday noon when he was removed to the Presbyterian Church in Winter where funeral services were conducted at 2 P.M. with Rev. James Hervery officiating. The interment took place in the Winter Cemetery.
