Mrs. Mildred Iola Strouf, age 60 years, a resident of this community, passed away in the Park Falls Hospital on Sunday, December 30th.
She was born in Hixton, WI, on May 17, 1903. At an early age, she moved with her parents to Beach, ND. She attended school there and following her schooling she was employed by the State Hospital in Jamestown, ND.
In 1920, she came to Winter. On April 3, 1921, she was united in marriage to Joseph Strouf in Winter. The couple resided here for a while and later lived in Chicago and Kenosha where Mr. Strouf was employed. In 1931 they returned to Winter to make their home.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Winter.
Survivors are her husband, Joseph; four sons, William of Winter; Jack of Silver Lake; Roger and Terry of Kenosha; four daughters, Mrs. Lillian Burgess of Toledo, OH; Mrs. Josephine Irvine and Mrs. June Blaisdell of Kenosha; and Mrs. Violet Olson of Glidden; two sisters, Mrs. David Larson of Sunnyside, CA and Mrs. Emil Rusch of Proctor, MN; five brothers, Richard Brown of Rice Lake; Harry Brown of Grandview, WA; Truman Brown of Lombard, IL; Horace Brown of St. Paul, MN; and Daniel Brown of Ladysmith; and 17 grandchildren.
