Martin J. Fadness, age 78, a long time resident of the Winter community passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Ladysmith on Wednesday, Dec. 1.
Mr. Fadness was born in Lake Mills, Iowa, where he later taught school. He was married in Lake Mills on Aug. 29, 1914.
He farmed in the Winter community until 1930 when he became the manager of the Winter Cooperative Creamery Store. He retired from that position in 1960.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. William (Ruth) Williamson of McAllen, TX; three sons, Telford of Winter, Merlin of Moose Lake, MN, and Roy of Hayward; and a number of grandchildren.
