John S. Hansen, age 87, pioneer resident of the North Clover Road, died May 8th, 1988, at his home.
He was born in Dallas, WI to Karen and Ole Hansen. John grew up in the Dallas area and moved to Chicago. It was in Chicago where he met and married Josephine L. Healy, his beloved wife for 61 years.
In 1925, they moved to their home in Loretta and with the help of their family, improved cut-over land into a farm that is still in operation today. On the last day of his life, John worked in his garden and stopped to rest on his couch.
He is survived by one daughter, Zeota (Larry) Hathaway of Green Bay; three sons, Terrence (Arline) Hansen, Basil (Marlene) Hansen, both of Loretta and Bruce (JoAnn) Hansen of Tampa, Florida; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Josephine in 1984; one son John “Jake” was killed in Iwo Jima in 1945; and a grandson Kevin Hansen.
