Mrs. Jesse Smoot passed away at her home in Winter on Sunday, May 1, 1938, after a brief illness.

Mrs. Smoot was well-known here and throughout the county. She was always interested in the welfare of others and the progress of the community in which she lived.

She leaves to mourn her passing: her husband, three sons, and two daughters.

Her first husband Franklin Racette died in 1918.

The funeral was held from the Presbyterian Church in Winter, Rev. Hauk officiating. Interment in the Winter Cemetery. The Alexander Funeral Home of this city had charge of arrangements.
