James Waite Ackley

James Waite Ackley, of Ojibwa, passed away at the home of his brother Duncan R. Ackley, Sr., 9 1/2 E. Elm Street in this city on Tuesday afternoon after a brief illness. Mr. Ackley was visiting the city at his brother’s home when he became ill.
Mr. Ackley was born January 14, 1874 at Minneapolis, and resided the greater part of his life at Winter, Wisconsin. He was a member of Keys Lodge 263 F. & A. M. of Hayward, Wisconsin.
He is survived by his wife Luella, one daughter Mrs. J. W. O’Shaughnessay of Superior; three sons Marion of Winter, Kenneth of Hayward, and C. Shannon of Racine; eight grandchildren, two brothers, William and Duncan of Chippewa Falls, and two sisters, Mrs. May Cameron and Mrs. Irve Connell, both of Sacramento, Calif.
The remains will lie in state at the Hogle Funeral Home from Thursday morning until the time of the funeral. Services will take place at the funeral home on Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. L. A. Brenner and Chippewa Lodge No. 176 F. & A. M. officiating.
Interment will be made in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Second Wife: Luella Amber Hugo-Durkee born March 8, 1896 died September 22, 1973 in Chetek, Barron Co., WI. They had a son Claire Shannon Ackley born October 2, 1921 in Rice Lake, Barron Co., WI died September 4, 1984 in Racine, Racine Co., WI
