There took place Tuesday evening shortly before midnight, death of one of this community’s highly respected elder citizens, Gaston Petit, Sr., age 86 years, who had resided in our neighborhood on the family’s farm two miles east of our village for approximately 27 years.

Gaston Adolph Petit, Sr. passed away at his home in Winter, WI, on Wednesday, January 16, 1946, at the age of 87 years.

Mr. Petit was born in Reims, France, in 1859, coming to this country sixty years ago.

He is survived by three sons, Marius, Constant, and Gaston Jr., all of Winter; and 15 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday morning from St. Peter’s Catholic Church at Winter, Rev. Fr. Lesniak officiating. interment in the Winter Cemetery. The Alexander Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
