Francis E. LeRoy, age 87, of Loretta, WI, died Sept. 1, 1998 at Park Place in Park Falls, WI.

Francis Edward LeRoy was born Aug. 24, 1911 in Grant County, Iowa, the son of Wesley and Sarah (Dewey) LeRoy. He attended school through the 6th grade in Iowa until 1924 when his family moved to Loretta. He joined the Army in 1942 and served until 1946.  During his time in the military he received the American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and the WWII Victory Medal.

After his time in the service he moved back to Loretta where he worked for the Town of Draper for 38 years where he did road work, machinery work, and landfill maintenance. He retired in 1988. He was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by two nephews, Arnold and Roman Anderegg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Minnie Anderegg and Margaret Smith.
