Chuck Howard Charles Beaver Jr
US Army Stationed in Japan - WWII Victory Medal
Howard Beaver * OJIBWA – Howard “Chuck” Beaver, Jr., 70, of Ojibwa, died January 25, 1999, at Rusk County Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home in Ladysmith. ‘ Howard Charles Beaver Jr. was born May 25, 1928, in Lake Mills, lowa, the son of Howard Sr. and Olive (Hylbak) Beaver. He graduated from Menomonie High School.
He joined the Army in 1946 and served until January of 1948. He was stationed in Japan and was issued the WWII Victory Medal.
He retumed from service and then graduated from River Falls College. He was joined in marriage to Shirley Sommervold in 1951. He worked as a bigh school teacher in Cochrane and Boyceville, Wis., and then was a field manager for Sanna Dairies in Menomonie. He was the first winner of the Chippewa Valley Tournament of hampions in Eau Claire. In 1974, he was joined in marnage to Gail Pettis in Hayward, Wis. For 30 years, he worked as a registered sanitarian for the State of Wisconsin. He was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church and the National Rifle Association. He was also an avid golfer, outdoors man, snowmo- biler and Green Bay Packer fan. –
He is survived by his wife, Gail; one son, Navy Lieutenant Commander John (Barbara) Brawford of Chesapeake, VA; four daughters, Julie (Mark) Kinney of Menomonie, Susan (Thomas) Harrell of Elberta, AL, Jo Blackburn of Virginia Beach, VA and Richell (Terry) Holman of Stratford, OK; twelve grandchildren; mother, Olive Beaver of Menomonie; brother, Alan (Eleanor) Beaver of Qakdale, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
